There was one?

All good things must come to an end but do they have to come to that end so quickly? Vacation was nice, lots of fun with the grandson, grandpuppy and the rest of the family. tough to leave, truth be told.

Monday it is back to the salt mines, when the 4th o' July shines around I have Jury duty, though I suspect my idea about bringing back public hangings may get me dismissed pretty quickly. Hope to have some pictures of my little jaunt up soon, meanwhile, have a great Sunday.

Markets and Goofy Gods

Got to go to Lee Lee's today. It is a huge Oriental Megamart with everything from statues of the Elephant God guy to live fish. Now I am sorry if I offend anyone that might worship the Elephant Dude, but next to the Scientology hoohah, this has to vie for first place for goofy things to worship. Don't know whether to pray to him or toss him a peanut!! Of course it'll be just my luck that I'll die, get up to the head of the line and there sits the Elephant man.

Pulling in the Welcome-mat

Hate the neighbors, tired of Moonies banging at your door trying to save your immortal soul? Take a lesson from nature. The bunny lives in the wicked looking patch of cactus and the dove has its nest in the bend of a Saguaro cactus. Even the most determined unwanted visitor isn't likely to try the front door more than once.

Random Thoughts

- Maybe electing someone as a leader of your country because he looks like a hip young black guy wasn't the best idea. Can the new generation of voters differentiate between American Idol and a presidential election - that is the question...

- Why do I really need to know my Bell Pepper came from? I just want it to taste like a pepper and not have to wreck it trying to get the "Costa Rica" label and stickum off the skin. As far as the organic craze, can someone show me an inorganic vegetable??

In the Moment

Sarah Sofia Ganborg laid a "10 things about you" meme on me. I've done this one in past Blogs and truth be told I'm just not that interesting - I lead a fairly dull life. So here's a palm tree instead. Palm trees, now those are interesting!!

Another D-Day anniversary is upon us. Today the allies stormed the beaches along the French coast of Normandy and ushered in the end of the Third Reich. Now those were some soldiers, I don't know as I could have done what they did, had the stamina and courage they displayed on this day 65 years ago. Salute!!

The Elusive Quail

Yeah, not a great picture. But you try stalking a couple quail through a parking lot in the Phosmobile and see how it works for you. I did think about stopping and getting out, but figured that would generate enough ruckus to scare my quarry off, so I found myself rolling quietly (as quietly as a Honda Element can roll anyway) around the parking lot after two quail. Did I mention they didn't appear to be in the mood to have their picture taken? I just hope no one was watching as I tried to corner the ravening beasts. Well, they weren't ravening I don't think quail can, but it makes it sound more exciting.
