Too Hot for Ducks

Slightly overexposed, as was I - just got too hot to fiddle with the camera down to the duck pond. In fact the whole month of August was a record setter - we've had excessive heat warnings for the past two weeks and broke the record for the hottest August since they started collecting weather trivia like that. On the bright side it may drop to 103 this weekend.  I don't mind the heat that much, but there are limits to everything and it's high time we drop into "not-summer," the other season here in the Sonoran desert.

We''re still in Monsoon season so the humidity has been kind of up there too, especially for the desert. Never thought I"d be looking forward to the first 90 degree day!!!

I think the hottest job I ever did was back in the early 1990s. We were having a heat wave in Maryland with temperatures consistently above 100 degrees. I was a roofer then. We were applying an asphalt-based roof to a shopping mall and the ambient temperature on the roof was 120 degrees. One pretty much had to drink water constantly and it just sweated out.
