So Long Fred, It's Been Good To Know You...

Requiem for Freddy

There are many fish but this one was mine. His only responsibility was to help me relax by swimming in his tank, something Freddy excelled at. He was a fish among fish as far as I was concerned and I will miss him. He never asked for a thing, rescued from a tiny glass, I gave him his first proper home. He had a nice castle, weeds to lurk in and two squares a day.

I couldn’t pick him up, couldn’t hug him by he was always there for me at the front of his tank, waving his fins, and ok sometimes doing his little Beta threat posture, but I am sure it was in jest. I will miss that crazy fish.

I loved a fish once. "Bubbles," he'd come to the top of the tank & make pop pop noises with his mouth when somone would walk by. first time I realized that A goldfish could acually have a personality.
Nice of you to acknowledge Fred. Little fishes deserve love.

I am so sorry to hear about Fred. I agree pets are people too. No matter how small they all have personalities.

Just think back at all the fond memories you guys made together.

Fred's in a far better place now Phos. No preadators where he's at, neither ichthyofauna nor homo sapien.

Thanks all. I guess with all the world's tragedies a fish doesn’t seem like much, but damn he was fun to watch.

My condolences, PK. I, too, lost a bunch of fish... albeit they were my desktop wallpaper.
