Moon Over Tiny House

Here we are another Halloween upon us and nothing to show for it beyond a bag o’ cut rate candy. The weather is nice though, you have to give it that. Beautiful evenings – the trick-or-treaters are going to have it pretty nice.

Speaking of scary things, it is neigh on election time too and it is going to be a tough one. I have a choice between a Republican hyena and a Democrat who was a developer. I rate developers right up there with rapists and lawyers. I could piss my vote away on a third party candidate, but in the long run, what would I have proven? I am registered as a Republican, but will undoubtedly vote for the incumbent governor, a Democrat. I think she has done a good job so far and it gives me a little comfort knowing we have someone to balance out our rapacious Republican government here in AZ. There is a Republican candidate, but the only qualification I have seen so far is he has eight kids. Oh good, his dick works. If I was his wife I’d neuter the bastard with a dull butter knife. Well, enough of the political nonsense. It really doesn’t matter who you vote for. It is the same shit; the names have just been changed to protect the guilty.

Spent more than a little time banging around a hospital last week. Word of warning, any hospital with the word “Banner” in the name is one to be avoided. The first one was like a refugee camp and this one was the “get it your damn self” hospital. It sucked sweaty donkey balls.

Voter tip: If a non smoking bill is endorsed by a cigarette company and a land use bill is endorsed by developers it would be in your best interest to vote no on those bills. I’ve said it before, if the cigarette companies were really interested in people’s rights they’d quit making cigarettes. And developers are just a pack of right bloody bastards.

you sound so cynical. fuck it, i'm pissing my vote away on the third party. if everyone did that...

Cynical, not me!! The last election the Libertarian candidate didn't draw more than 5% of the vote - he was the only other candidate so you'll have to explain to me how my voting for the dude would have improved his chances. You have choice between Green party (not generally a player in local elections), nazis, communists, socialists, and some other fringe groups, none viable entities. Unfortunately you have to take the bad with the good.

Sometimes I write myself in. Hell I couldn’t dick it up much worse then the guys already in power and I don’t have any desire to fornicate with young pages of any gender. I have yet to take any election…

I hate election time. I hate the mud slinging that all the canditates do. This year would be the first election I could vote here but I never got registered and I hate politicians and politic so I can't really be bothered.

Nice to see your back.

Phos! I hope you're ok?!!?
Stay away from those hospitals when you can...I don't think they're too much better than the politicians!

I can't understand why america is still in this two big parties system. There are way too many topics and questions to discus and think about. So to have only two parties is not enough in my opinon. I understand that you don't want to vote for nazis or greens or communists... but there must be other choices. With a vote to a smaller party or whatever you could give others courage to go their own way. A long way, I know.

Talking about hospitals, I'm with jin and try to stay away from all of them! I had to go to one accidentaly two weeks ago and must say then, I would better lay down on the street outside...

.... ** Oh, I'm still laughing at "Oh good, his dick works." , "...neuter the bastard with a dull butter knife", and "get it your own damn self" hospital.

You know, this was a terribly funny post. Thanks.

Happy Halloween Phos! (Us wichies LOVE Samhain!)

Love your work Phos. But you know that. Take care of yourself - the hospital visits don't sound good - although, I too have stayed at a "get it yourself hospital" in the past and you just have to laugh... helplessly of course

Katy: The election ads seem to get worse and worse. You rarely hear what the candidate that sponsored the ad accomplished, only that his opponent cheated on his taxes, wife, or molests collies. The smaller party candidates, such as the Libertarians or Greens don’t; get heard at all. There is supposed to be a level playing field but the big parties wield the big bucks and the little guy doesn’t have a chance. The Media doesn’t help; I guess stories about independents don’t generate enough ad revenue to bother with an interview.

JinThanks for the thought. It does seem every time I go t o see a Dr, especially a Specialist I come away worse than when I went in to see him/her in the first place. I think we here are all as good as we get right now.

DM Too many parties can be a bad thing as well – look at Italy, they haven’t had a stable government since Mussolini. You are right hospitals are horrible places – full of sick people! I plan on giving them wide berth from now on.

Jewels Back at you! Hope you had a great Halloween. W didn’t get many trick-or-treaters. We did get some older kids that were masquerading as street thugs, though. Maybe they weren’t really masquerading… I think there should be a reasonable age limit to go door to door looking for candy. Young teens should be out egging houses, not begging candy.

One thing I saw that made me pretty happy was that in most cases both parents were with their little ones. It is refreshing to see parents actually spending time with their kids. Some of them need to lose the cigarette around junior though.

Mummified That hospital was a real pip, I can’t wait to receive the survey the nurse kept yakking about. Thanks for the compliments.

I really love Italy. It's one of my favourite countries. But politics is obviously not really their business... how can so many people vote for a guy like Berlusconi again and again. I'll never understand such things.

sometimes in politics it feels like you have to pick the best out of a bunch of crucks

I'm a non-smoker as of July 5th, 2006. And I couldn't be prouder of myself! I did sneak a black and mild cigar the other day though, I rationalized it by coming up with the excuse that there was no nicotine in it... It did feel good to smoke it too! lol

Someone left a comment on one of my posts about writing in "None of the above" on all the ballots. I like the idea a lot!! You gotta that know "None" would get all the votes! Then all you'd have to do is legally change your name to "None o.t. Above", and you'd be in like Flint!

Oh. Wait. Phos running the show??? Really scary thought!!!! What was I thinking?!?!?!?!?!

Chickie: Loved your picture - cooking tip, you'll want to wear more than a Boston Markey bag if you ever do any pan frying. Kind of a safety thing, really...

DM: Right you are, beautiful country, gorgeous women (hell, I even married one) and the food, well you can eat damn near everything in that country. AS far as Italians voting for crooks, we Americans could give them lessons. Many of our politicians chose public office to avoid prison.

Mone: Right which one is less evil than the others. I vote to try to limit the damage.

Becky Good on you!! I can’t do cigars because the mere taste brings back cravings for chewing tobacco. Don’t want to start that again. Interesting how companies like R. J. Reynolds can bend the law so far that they can kill with impunity.

Hi Fuff! In American politics bastardliness is a requirement, as is being wealthy. Rich bastards. So much for the meek inheriting the earth.

Dino Katy Nice avatar. Now the bad news I have compromising pictures of Dino and Wilma in flagrento delecti.

EC: I respect other people too much to run for office, besides I don’t want to have to shave the corners off my moustache.
