King of the Rake

Finally got a few shots of the little guy that likes to perch on my leaf rake so he can keep an eye on the feeder with the broken flower.

Why are you still stalking this poor little thing ? He'd be barely a mouthful, besides I heard they taste just like soy!

Jin: the broken flower is his favorite to drink from, only the female humming birds have a hissy about the broken flower.

FS: Hummers aren't for eating, they're just for looking at. Even the pups ignore them, though Yukon did take a cut at a black bumblebee the size of a small plane the other day. I think that would have been a real mouthful if he would have connected.

Gnat: He was eyeing me up... The little devils aren't too happy about me lurking around the feeder, hence the crazy eye. I was out this evening trying to get some shots with my dad's old camera so I could get a bit farther away. They still spooked at the click of the shutter.
quite right for me to catch the
SL: Purple it is, the light wasn't flash though.

SF: Interesting theory on the throat flash...
