Thanks all! Have the family over and am putting the grill through its paces. It is so nice having almost everyone here, except my son now in Afghanistan. We'll certainly be thinking of him today!!
good post! we had school today. so all day long in my art classes i taught what memorial day means and then we made poppies.. in flanders field the poppies blow, etc. i'm an army brat, married to a former soldier. i could do no different.
I'll say it: POW/MIA is also synonomous with lives our Government all too willingly threw away and abandoned. Thank God our soldiers know better, and thru them now some of our citizenship too. Bless you and yours, Phos.

Remembering now that grandfather was brave. served pacific fleet in WWII.
Father-monster-abuser was a coward. dodged draft.
We wanted to serve. tried. recruiter didn't allow. recruiter asked for medical file. said having many people in one body was not good.
am glad for brave grandfather. honor. thinking of him.
POW - something from my childhood. We used to wear the name of the missing solider stamped on a bracelet. I like that you only use a few pictures.
Happy MM.

Great photo. Reminds me of my Grandpa who was in WWII. He didn't talk about it much but the stories he told were very interesting to listen to.
