Holiday

It has finally cooled off and has become very windy as a low pushes in. I don't know about the rain the weatherclown was talking about, but the breeze is nice. Time to fire up the grill and have some bratwurst. Time to get set for the Memorial Day weekend, going to grill some beer can chickens, maybe do some Buffalo style drumsticks and watch the grandpups and grandson run around the house. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone, but will miss my son. I am hoping he'll finally be at Bagram and set up to the point where we can do a video call.

It has been a hoot talking with my sister-in-law and our daughter-in-law over the computer - being able to see them while talking. Very Jetsonesque. I am hoping we'll have connectivity with our son as well. Ain't technology grand??

Here's a picture of an A-10 for Indigo, I remember he said he liked them and this one was visiting from Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson.

gt3f: Low and slow kind of jet. Bad news if you are in a tank though.

caramaena: Yep, use a whole chicken, stuff the cavity with aromatics then shove the beer can up it's wazoo and use it and the legs to form a tripod so it rests on the grill. The beer in the can boils and makes the meat nice and juicy.

Foam: Thanks! Beer can chicken is the best. I'll take pictures.

/t.: Yep, my private jet!! It is armed with lambseeking missiles...

Low and slow is fast and high when you can't fly.

I really like the WWII planes personally but anything with wings is great in my books. I decided long ago that piloting will be my mid-life crisis when I get there. I may have to manufacture one just to get my wings.

Um

whats a beer can chicken? And how do you get the chicken to squeeze through the opening at the top?

Seems like a waste of beer to me!

Hope you get to talk to your son this weekend.

Nice ride there, by the way :)

looks like a far stretch from the A10 (is that what those were? Prop goes one direction, rear prop goes the other...real manuevering power. Turn on a dime over forrest canopy, mark a position for army cobras.
Watched one do a cartwheel, once.
My friend went running out to snag a helmit he saw fly out'a the cockpit.
Didn't but just get it picked up and realized the guy's head was still in it.
He was always kind'a "odd" after that. Watched him shoot up seven vials of heroin in one sitting once. Barely phased him.

....wait. You said A 10.
I mean a Bronco, I think, eh?
Still, you Air Force jocks weren't around long. You guys split, the marines split. Still came in by air, but, all your ground stuff went away.
I got some great chow from Ted's place (we were buddies. Trade stuff buddies) when he split.
I had to send him other things after he left, but, after a while, we lost touch with each other.
