Where is that @#$%@ Sandman Anyway...

I'm not talking about the Sandman for Logan's Run either. Can't seem to sleep tonight for some reason. Had a great day, got out with Mrs. Phos a bit. She had physical therapy, I had a Dr.'s appointment, but after that went and had a Bagel at Ben's Bagel shop. Pretty damn good. Nosed around the shopping area there a bit , but didn't find anything exciting. Went to the market and forgot to get Kosher salt. I can't cook without it so I'll have to get out tomorrow and pick some up.

There is a new teacher's store opening near the house so Mrs. Phos and I might walk over and check it out. We'll have to hit the a coffee shop in the same strip mall - we have been meaning to check out so that could be gravy.

We did get to chat with our son - we hooked up a network camera so we could see him, though in fact we got it primarily to see Max. Won't let Ben know that though. Ben is leaving tomorrow at O-Dark-30 and we are hoping we'll be able to link up with him while he is in Afcrapistan. Hate to see him in that shit-hole but it comes with the job.

Well, suppose I better try to turn in so I am not Mr. Grumpy tomorrow. Bad enough I was ready to backhand a screaming brat at the market since mom couldn't be bothered to take charge of her own child. I know kids pitch fits at times, but the parents need to deal wiht it. Another Phoenix Thug in Training...

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend - we'll be up in the 100s tomorrow!!!

Hope you got some sleep, Phos! Bob did, finally! Slept like a log, and now he's cooking up breakfast for us! Whew! This - after not sleeping 3 nights in a row on account of ... wait for it ... yep ... water on the heart again! But hey - BIG improvements, eh? It only took him 3 days this time before picking up the phone and calling the doctor!! I nearly fell over! (I think that's why he's making breakfast - I think he's afraid I'm faint, or something!) ^_^

Hope sleep returns at the appropriate moment.

Know the feeling well about bratty young ones. A while back we were vacationing in Williamsburg, VA. While waiting for a bus this young couple walk up with a tired four year old. For lack of anything else to do, I got down on my knee in front of him and invited him to help me explore a crack on the ground. We spent a few delightful moments in exploration.

The bus arrived and we all went on our individual ways. You gotta love kids and hope like hell parents would learn how to love their kids.

btw, the parents mentioned above did love their boy, they just weren't sure what to do to keep him from succumbing to his tiredness.

We'll keep Ben in our prayers. I know what you mean about it "coming with the job."

Stay healthy and continue to...

Serve with integrity, care about those you serve and share the love in your heart.

EC: Don't want to mess with hearts, that is for sure. We should all have two, the one we use daily and one for back up.

Mr. K., Thanks for the inspiring words and prayers!! Redirection for kids is the best way, I wouldn't have really backhanded the kid, I was just feeling irritable at the time. Mrs. Phos is a preschool teacher and an incredible mother, so she has all the techniques down.

/t.: Ragtime Sandman, very good!!!

If my son were going to Afcrapistan I'd have trouble sleeping too.

I'm sending some protective energies to surround him.

At least the heat in Arizona is dry...visit Houston sometime, and you'll think 110 in Phoenix is paradise.

last time i looked the sandman was still in my mom's display cabinet downstairs. actually it's the german sandman..
i used to watch 'Der Sandman' every night at 7 pm on german tv during the late 60s.
i'm sorry to hear about your son going to that place. i've been relieved that a relative is back from a 2nd tour of duty in iraq .. came back on mom's day.
hope you get some sleep tonight!

Thanks all!! Nice to see see Timmy again! He's right it is a dry heat.

I was in Germany for a while, don't remember Der Sandman, but I do remember Pingu and Asterix.
