Still Here...

Sorry all, been kind of busy, getting home late from work and actually sleeping though the night –no 2AM Blog sessions. I will get back to it tomorrow night, post some and go “visiting.”, I have been thinking of you all at any rate..

Took my new monopod out for a trial this morning and captured images of some visiting Super Hornets. The monopod helped to brace the camera, I need to work with it a bit more - some of the pictures were still blurry. I used a Cannon S3 in the low light mode with no flash.

These pictures will give you some sense of what it like just before dawn on a flightline...

Neat shots!

I made a lazy daisy cake ONCE.
An ex-boyfriends mom asked me to make her mothers recipe (years ago)...I followed it EXACT...& all my exbf did was complain for WEEKS how terrible the cake was.
He really was an idiot.
HA!
:-)

Yours looked nice, though...how'd it taste?

how cool. I used to love going on base and see the jets land and take off right next to me.

Jin: I had time on my side. It has been many years since Mrs. Phos had her grandma’s cake, so I could probably have made anything and she would have been happy. The original version called for coconut, but apparently her family weren’t big fans so they dispensed with. Your boyfriends loss, he could be living in cake heaven (and have a great wife) had he just ate his cake and shut the hell up.

Keshi: I am right here. Thanks!! Jin’s old boyfriend has cake for brains, hope he enjoys living with mom!!

DAK: I’ve been around aircraft most of my adult life, I would have a hard time coping if I didn’t have them flying over y house. My wife and I always joked that we were the couple that could buy the house next to the airport and be happy…

DM: Well, not exactly skulking, I had to get a “photo pass” from base ops so I could take the pictures.

Jin: agreed, Keshi is one smart lady, I really enjoy her blog…

I once watched a trio of Mirage 2000's land in Iraklio, Crete. They reminded me of daddy long legs(ezzes).
Welcome back :)

fuff: I could watch the planes all day. I like to check the ramp each morning and see if there is anything different, we don’t get that many transients - Nells AFB, NV is the place to see lots of different aircraft from Tornados to Mig-29s.

Come over, you can watch planes from my back yard all day. We live by the airport. No cool fighter jets, but that's just as well. We get the occasional joy rider who tries to peel the tiles right off our roof. Grrrrr.

anon:Civilian jetliners are pretty loud. I was stationed at a B-52 base - even as far away from the flight line as we were it was pretty loud. The worst were the KC-135s that used water injection for takeoffs. Got used to it after awhile…
