Phos Bakes

Phos Bakes

I usually avoid baking because the only thing I seem to be able to whip up is a calamity. I made an exception when I found out Mrs. Phos was looking for a recipe her grandma used to bake – Lazy Daisy Cake.  I found the recipe on the net and gave it a shot. Not too sure how close to grandma’s this’ll be, but with the amount of sugar it has in it, the cake is bound to be sweet.

The rain clouds are moving out. There is a side benefit to the rainy weather, beautiful sunsets…

It looks scrumptious Phos.

Call me crazy, but I see so many similarities between the photo of the cake and the photo of the clouds.

LL: Mrs. Phos said it did remind her of her grandma's cake, so looks like I got it right. Come one over and help yourself!!

/t.: I have to back off on the magenta when I fiddle with the pictures...

SL: I still seem to be waiting for some snickerdoodles someone owes me, hmmm...

Keshi: Next I am going to try bread. I almost always screw that up and make a foundation block.

Do all my baking in the convection toaster oven as the regular oven seems to have become some sort of closet for metal items.

I'd appreciate a good sunset it has been gloomy here lately...

Steven seems to be burning down the kitchen as I speak... shall I roust myself and check or just allow myself to be consumed in the flames?... hmm?

Phos-
The frozen bread dough at the store is very good- tastes like homemade- and is a lot easier than making it from scratch.
I'm a pretty good baker...and no body complains when I use the frozen stuff :)
Just give it a few hours to rise, and bake! :)

Your cake looks good though-and I love how you enjoy being in the kitchen...though I'm not sure I'd like it as much if MY husband was fooling around in ours :)!

You know, if you stare at that cake long enough you can make out an image of the Virgin Mary. Plenty of scotch enhances this mystical experience.

ALL: Thanks for stopping by! I have some catch-up to do, been running behind in everything lately. I will post a link for the recipe - there is almost more sugar then flour in the thing!

I really love to cook so Mrs. Phos has ceded the kitchen to me. Of course I still blame her when I can’t find the can opener!!
