You have to look up once in awhile

A Visitor from Afar

Comet McNaught has graced the skies these past nights. It will be closest to earth and significantly brighter than Venus on Sunday 12 January.  The picture isn’t so hot, but not bad for a small digital. Sunday I may break out the Leica and see if I have a bit better luck.

I did have an assistant comet watcher, though I think he was actually waiting for me to leave so he could enlarge his latest excavation.

I don't like looking up: I'm afraid of heights and those stars are FAAAAR up there.

MS: Looking down from them would be even scarier.

LL: It’ll have to do until Mrs. Phos ponies up for a bigger lens

/t. No new Nike trainers or Kool-Aid involved in this one. It is fun to watch.

Keshi: Thank you – there are a couple on the internet taken with telescopes that show the comet’s tail.

Kirsten: Thanks! Good to see you!!

Fuff: No, but I do…

DAK: Yukon has a series of pits dug around the hummingbird feeder, for paw rests apparently. Austrella would never dig, however, there is a shallow scooped out spot under the lemon tree that seems to fit her perfectly when she lies in it. Very Suspicious...

Are you sure Yukon isn't sniffing out bodies or buried treasure?

You actually have a Leica? You're kidding right?

Love your assistant!

Chickie I think he is after some Chinese dogs

Dan:Hard to believe - the sad part is the camera is a lot smarter than I am. Most of my pictures are taken with a Canon S3.

Between the glaring lights of the Auto Mall and the super brights that my lovely neighbors have chosen to put on their garages, we can't see squat.
