Not Just Another Day Off

Many ways to climb that mountain

Another holiday coming up - no decorations or shopping binges this time, however, as with Christmas it is in honor of a man who valued peace and love.  You have to admire someone who advances his principles and his cause in a calm intellectual manner. I wonder how things would be today if he’d been allowed to carry on.

LL There is just to much terror and strife in the world - I think we all need to speak with softer voices.

K9:I agree, always with Hitler, every time someone takes an unpopular stand he is automatically branded Adolph - that is so tiresome. Thanks for the link to your site K9, I enjoyed my visit.

DAK: I have one, but it doesn’t do anything beyond lying on the coffee table attracting dust particles and husky fur.

In this world, it doesn't help to try to obtain your dreams by kindness, politeness or honesty. If he had taken the approach that
"I wan't to have it my way and those who don't agree will get their country destroyed by an atom-bomb." Then he maybe still would have been alive...
(That's how humanity wants it.)

I wonder how things would be if more people adopted his attitude. Better I think..

Then again, that wouldn't take a lot of effort with the current state of affairs!

thats exactly it isnt it? he never went negative. never thought we "were doomed" he knew change wasnt an overnight proposistion. he believed america was great.

now you have a slew of leadership that paints the USA in a negative light, constantly, the merchants of hopelessness, the imps of guilt. makes me wanna howwwwwwwwwwwwl.

thanks pho for the opportunity to bark!

Kirsten: Works for Osama Bin Laden and the rest of the head-choppers, I suppose - but they are wrong minded. The shame is some of Imams preaching the hate crap to the children. I'd like to think there is a special hell set aside for religious (any religion) leaders that use their position to spread hate.

fuff: That is the way it is when we vote - we pick the less evil of the choices.

DM:Well put!

K9: Or paint portions of the population in a bad light. Anyone regular schlub that thinks he/she has a say in our gov't has another think coming!

Bark away K9, bark away...

HDWK: Sorry about that - I it’s Martin Luther King day, he was a champion of Civil Rights in the ‘60s and ‘70s. His hard work and extreme patience brought us where we are today - no where near good enough, but lots closer then we were.

The funny thing, I think, is that the people protesting globalization are too late – there are no borders in the Blogsphere, so I have to remember to be more clear about goings on here. I love reading about festivals in the East and European holidays. In fact I am getting prepped for the Lunar New Years here on 28 Feb. That should be a hoot!!

Gnat: Hi Gnat!! Nice to hear from you. I concur.

There are new versions today... MANY new versions but the media and our too-busy brains forget them.

I wonder how Fox "News" would paint this guy if he were still alive.

CS: You are right, the kindness and love out there goes unnoticed. The media only wants a body count or nipple slip, peace an decency don't sell tampons and toilet paper.
