Notes from the Tiny House

新年好
We’re rapidly coming up on the Lunar New Year, time to pull out all the stops and celebrate. I have started rehearsing some of the dishes I plan on serving at our New Years party and am sending the recipes on to Eternally Curious’s new site "Blogger World Cooking". If you have any recipes that you are fond of, send them on to her as per the instructions on the site. All my dishes are carefully tested by my panel of experts.
I like to serve a potpourri of dishes, some Dim Sum, Pork Adobo, red cooked ribs, fried rice, and Lumpia. I really enjoy this holiday.
The Weather:
Temps are returning to normal here at the Tiny House, though many of the plants have already taken a hit. Hopefully they will come back.
The Dark side of medical practice:
- If the Doctor orders a bunch of tests, he or she isn’t interested in the tests, they are just buying time to decide on the treatment.
- If your doctor prescribes medication and the pills you get are green, you have just been taken for a ride. Green pills, in my experience, do nothing. I suspect they are just corn starch.
- Pills don’t cure anything; they just hold the symptoms at bay until your body can deal with the root cause.

I agree with you when it come to medicine. I have the same experience. I rather go through the food i eat and consentrate about those kinds that deal with the problem...or helps the body to deal with it.
those medicine tips have me SHOUTING agreement.. i have to have 5 pills a day! 5 PILLS!! And i m sure i'll be better off without them, and suspect tht the doctor loves the expense! :-((
Oh, hey now, you had me at "Dim Sum". Man I love it...can't spell it, but I love it. Oh, especially gingered squid. Do you have a recipe for that?
Oh, and hey now #2: A quack once prescribed me some tiny little dark green pills, and I hate to tell ya, but they helped me immensely through a bad bout with the shingles. Not nice... Not nice at all...
I'm getting itchy just thinking about it... F***!
Are you interested in any recipes involving walrus or seal? The latter is especially good in a stir-fry.
Maybe your Dr. just wants you to drink more water.
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all

Awwwwwwwww.
Lumpia? I love lumpia!
Kirsten: I think there is something to natural healing, but I still like having an aspirin handy to dull the pain. I am a baby when it comes to pain.
HDWK: I am with you. I have whittled my pills down to two necessary medications – one of them is over the counter pain reliever for my knee (see comment to Kirsten above).
Jewels: Actually I think I got the same pills that were supposed to relive itching for a rash I had – right. Now the handful of benedryl helped!! I will have to see what I have for recipes with squid. I usually make pot stickers, crab puffs, and Jiaozi.
nanuck Seal is hard to come by in these parts. I passed up the maktaaq during the Eskimo rodeo in Fairbanks – I would have like to try some but I didn’t feel I was up to a maktaaq eating contest. I would love to trey some- there were seals in San Francisco, but I hear the fish and game folks get pissed if you whip out your ulu and start skinning…
SL:I think it is “the ones the doctor gives you don’t do anything at all” --White Rabbit remix – Phosmaster K 2007
/t.: Phos: Take the green pill and nothing happens at all…
fuff: Right, just be sure to count your fingers when finished with hand feeding huskies!!
LL: Check out “The Philippine Cookbook” by Reynaldo Alejandro. I first came across it in Korea and that is what fired my interest in cooking. I have tinkered somewhat with the original recipe, and later found that every Philippina I talked with had a different recipe – hers was the only way to make them, of course!
cute pups but the popcorn does not sound appetizing
DAK It is just like regular popcorn, salty and buttery - then comes the fire. Peppers make the world go 'round!!
