51 Days or So; Lied to Again
Well 51 days in the Whitehouse and no real signs that much of anything has changed. I realize it is going to take some time, but from "Porkulus II: Land of Earmarks," to what appears very much like signing statements in some of his comments Osama bin Obama, First African American president doesn't appear any more capable than his white counterparts. Maybe he should have tried the pro golf circuit. To be fair, there is no way one man is going to affect much change on that Turdpile we call Washington D.C.. Even the city itself is a disgrace, kind of a microcosm of the pool of ooze it houses on capitol hill. I've said it before, the Brits did us a favor burning the shithole down, too bad the politicians weren't still in town when they set the fires. Maybe we could invite them back. We could burn down the Canadian Parliament like we did to set off the first Washington conflagration, there are more than a few Canadians that might thank us. I don't think it would get much of a rise out of the Brits these days however, they are far too busy dressing up in women's clothing and beating the shit out of the French in the streets after a soccer game.
So here we are, no firm plan in place to fix the economy, still in that shit heap Afuckistan when we should have our troops on the Mexican border, and a treasury secretary that resembles a cartoon rat. Not a good sign. Kind of fitting for a man with roots in Kenya to lead us down the road to Third Worldship.

Well, guess yopu're not paying attention to two other points....
#1 the stock market has changed for the better (though i give a rat's behind for those clowns)
#2 Even if he said that we'll all have a chicken in every pot, nobody (let alone not over 4200 folks) have died for his attempts.
Why are you being so negative about this?
Dang!
You're right, you know....
ONE MAN is not going to tie a rope to our economy and drag us out of this hole. Bush junior buried us DEEP!
The lines of communication are still open.
Use that energy of hate, turn it into a positive idea, and TELL the White House!
Politicians are crooks.

"In his first 50 days, President Obama has moved at a lightning pace, passing a $787 billion economic stimulus plan in his first three weeks, announcing financial rescue and housing plans, disclosing a $3.55 trillion budget, kick starting discussions on health care reform, and releasing a withdrawal plan from Iraq and a boost in troop numbers in Afghanistan.
He has also signed orders to close the Guantanamo Bay prison, tighten ethics rules for Executive Branch employees, raise fuel efficiency standards and lift the restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research."
I am not sure that anyone could expect him to fix the affects of the last 8 years in 50 days, but in my opinion he is off to a decent start.
i'm just curious ..
what do you think the constitution party would accomplish in 50 days ..
Porkulus and Porkulus II aren't anything to brag about - if you have kids they'll be paying for this for many years to come. Add to that we will wind up borrowing the money form a repressive government. Yes the stock market was better today, let's see what is does next week. A bunch of day traders sitting around in their underwear and no oversight or regulation are running our economy, not terribly bright.
No the Constitutional party wouldn't have made much headway. Even with the presidential spot and a handful of senate seats the elites would protect their own. If you think anyone in the government gives a rats ass about you best think again. Of course I am talking about the middle class, you know the ones paying taxes, footing the bill - the ones that can;t send their kids to college because they aren't "disadvantaged" enough for all the handouts that their parents support through taxes.
Time to wake up. Unless you are attending your reps $1000 a plate dinners he wouldn't cross the street to piss on you if you were on fire.
The one thing that the Constitutional Party would do if it could gain any momentum is enforce the Constitution, a document that has been twisted to meet the ends of the wealthy and dishonest.
As far as anger, yes I am. I write Congressman Shitpickle often, but know what - he gives a shit and I can tell because I get a from response back. Shitpickle has some asswipe aide that can barely stick the stamp on the envelope and only has the job because she is fucking Shitpickle on a regular basis (his wife doesn't understand him).
The politicians understand the danger - why do you think the Dems are champing at the bit to take all the guns away and offering handouts so the weak minded drooling mouth breathing NASCAR watching baboons sitting on their indolent asses will continue to vote the same way. Why end the gravy train when you have middle America picking up the tab.
We need government out of our lives, out of our pockets, and bring the power back to the local levels. We have little or no representation now.

Add to that the fact that he's planning on betraying the GLBT community that helped get him elected. He's going to sustain a right-wing bill that will have the effect of continuing to deny domenstic partner benefits to civilian employees of the government. Funny, eh, since he's the Heathcare Reform President?
But I knew he would betray us. After all, gays are the new ni--er that all the politicians love to hate.
Heck, Phos. That's an easy one.
Get those letters to Congressman Shitpickle... (really? 'Sitpickle' Dang! Must'a been a humdinger of a campaign to win with THAT name!)... anyway, get those letters out into view to the public. You'll generate at least one of three things...
Get folks pist at him enough to scream at him.
Get folks to vote for somebody else.
Or (you'll love this one)
get folks to write your name in as the next congressman.
(If it ends up being the last one? Tell me, I'll move to Arizona long enough to vote for you, too!
Hell yeah, we can!)
Hi Phosgene Kid,
interesting blog you have here!
like your sense og humor!
Since you seem to wonder about the Brits, you might wanna read this one:

and about everything else in this post and simular things you've been writing about:

(the juicy part comes after the first 10 lines or so about the award...
see you around!
greetings from Scandinavia, sarah sofia
Boneman: Thanks for the vote, don't think AZ is ready for ol' Phos, too many people looking for the gov't to support them and dry their tears. I am a cold heart SOB.
SSG: Thanks for stopping by. I actually have a familiarity with the Brits, I worked with some folks in the British service. Nice folks, tough to understand, but nice none the less. Close as I have come to Scandinavia is Stock City Girl's blog and a Finnish girl working as a bartender in Bavaria. Ana-Lys is also from Sweden, I believe. Looks like a pretty place, but I don't do snow...
C'mon!
Hey!
Goldwater wasn't any sweetheart!
I'm kind of curious: why do you find the Brits hard to understand? Not that I don't think that they are weird... and I agree, they can drive you absolutely nuts, but I never had a hard time understanding them -unless you talk to british women... then it's just: run as fast as you can! (That's how my husband ended yup in Denmark!)
Scandinavia: the north is truely beautiful, Lapland in Norway, finland and sweden. We're really in denmark, because it's easy to get away! everything is close and you can get to where ever you need to get to fairly quickly and still live in the country without anybody getting on your nerves.
living in the desert... don't you miss the sea??? I could never live away from it, I just need the waves and the wind...
there won't be troops on the mexican border as long as the king is looking for cheap labor.
it's that easy Phos...
