How Can I Have a Cold When it is so Nice Out
Figures, the Wx is gorgeous and I have a cold. That's not going to stop me from grilling up a bunch of bratwurst, no way. The time I am too sick to pick up my spatula is the time to dig the hole 'cause I am toast.
I am of the opinion that my son-in-law may be a communist. I arrived at this conclusion after he told me he didn't like bratwurst, which is funny in that he has lived in Germany. If you don't eat your bratwurst in Germany they send you to a special camp and forget about you. Not quite so harsh in Wisconsin, they just won't let you, probably refer you to our FIB neighbor to the South, Illafrikkinoise. Most FIBS wouldn't know a bratwurst if it bit them in the ass. FIB stands for "Foolish Illinois Boys," except the F and the B are usually more profane.

hope you feel better soon. The weather is gorgeous here too 78F hubby just ran out to go get a hammock to put on the deck for nap time - we'll have it in the trailer for our trips too. i can't wait to take out the trailer next week.

Those bratwurst should fix you up.
I made some on Friday night. with grilled onions and peppers and a splash of beer. Everyone asked for seconds and thirds so I figured they came out alright.

but it's been very blustery and really rather nippy down south ..
and you are such a silly man ..
in germany if you don't eat your bratwurst they don't send you to a special camp ..
they send you to my relatives who will not let you leave the table until you've eaten what's being served and then they insist on you eating 2nd and 3rd helpings ...
and then they are still worried after an hour that you might still be starving, so they serve you kaffee und kuchen ..
..finally followed by a good schnaps ..
I think foam may be on to something. Paricularly the schnaps.
I prefer a black Russian, but that is just a matter of taste.
Get better quickly. That's an order. snerx.
stay at the grill,
take two bratwursts,
drink plenty of 'fluids'
and call us back in the morning

Bratwurst is like air to Germans. Maybe the son-in-law was trying to be funny, it's the type of straight faced joke a German (or someone who has lived in Germany) would make.

I would have to agree, only a communist couldn't like bratwurst.
as a nine year old, I would beg and beg and beg the Old Man for pocket change which I would haul down and buy bratwurst and gummi bears from a local who wheeled his addiction cart through the village every day.
