Mr. Desert is not Your Friend
I love hiking out into the desert, but there are a lot of things out there that aren't happy to see you. Most everything bites, stings, scrapes, scratches, or stabs. As if that weren't enough it is easy to dehydrate, the sweat evaporates so quickly that you don't notice it until you suddenly pass out. Despite all that it is an interesting place to visit. I've been in other people's deserts and so far I prefer ours.

Scorpions and rattle snakes in some countries that's considered a menu.
That line - I have been to other people's deserts... i will interpret in more ways than one. THis, and the photo essay under it, is very nice.
one of these days i'll have to visit your desert .... with a big water bottle .. and eyes wide open ..
Reminds me at my time in Western Australia. Everywhere snakes and stuff :) But I loved it. It was such an interesting and beautifull trip!
Deep, very deep indeed, Phos.
Now I think I understand your absence.
I don't like things that sting and bite and all that other stuff, but it sounds exciting.
We have lots of deserts here Phos and
plenty of things that sting or bite. Just dont go wandering off on your own, take a compass, plenty of water, wear a hat & sunscreen and you will see some lovely scenery & survive. :) xoxo
here it is
zombies in the mall
/t.
I've eaten frogs, crayfish and turtles, no snakes or bugs so far. I was in other people's deserts to cause the folks living there harm, unfortunately. As far as Malls, I'll take my chances in the desert.
The Lizard King
is there?
;)
I saw a gila monster once when I was visting a mountain trail just outside of phoenix. It almost got a poodle for a snack.
Don't forget the javelinas...
I'm with you on the mall thing, Phos!
