Soon Monsoon Come
We are in the envelope for monsoons and the weather is starting to look a bit more monsoonal. It has been hot, but that heat has brought moisture up from the South in a monsoonal flow. Hopefully we will get some rain over the next few days. If nothing else the forecast shows the temps dropping from 117F today to 109F by Sunday. Arizona is way behind in moisture, a trend I fear may be here to stay, but hopefully we'll get some rain out of the Monsoons this season.
Hope you all have a great (and cooler) weekend!!

Only hope you don't get flooded. It's enough flooding in the world at the time.
beautiful pics phos - beautiful bird too.
Rain, rain - yes please rain! Both for you, and for me! Still trying to adjust from Seattle's wonderfully moist dryness, to the blazing heat here! Not adjusting well at all, I'm afraid!
I love hummingbirds, they're too cool. Little tip on hummingbirds in case you didn't know, if you feed them sugar just once, they can die if you don't keep giving it to them.... Sad but true. They're so pretty.
/t.: I don't get out much. Thanks though!! I had been worried about he hummers as I hadn't seen any for awhile. I guess they must be trying to avoid the heat just as we are.
kirsten: We get flash floods. When it gets to be this time of the year you want to avoid low spots and dry washes. We haven't had too much trouble right here and we're not in a flood zone, but you never know!!
caramaena: Thanks. I could watch the little devils for hours - sometimes I do!
ec: Gets back to my plan to dig a canal from Ohio through the areas they get floods to here. We can channel the water they don't need to places that need it.
becky: They have their food sources carefully planned, they have to feed constantly and if the food isn't available when they get there they could well die. I have two feeders I rotate in and out to make sure there is always a full one available. The small purple bird is a permanent fixture and he guards the feeder jealously.
you take the most amazing birdie pictures
dak: Thanks. Gettin' them to hold still long enough is the tricky part.
117 to 109? WOW! A cold front!
So that's where all the hot weather is, cos it isn't here! Fingers crossed you get some of our rain, Phos.
I also love how you photograph a tiny bird.
OMG that birdie! SO cute!!
Keshi.
