Quail

Gambol's Quail is fairly common out here, but very timid. I attempted to be as stealthy as a an old fat guy can be on gravel, but the quail were able to stay ahead of me. It was more as though I were herding them. I did manage to get a few shots to before they tired of the game and flew off.

I was afraid, too, that it was going to be a picture of the timid and rarely seen Dan Quayle, har har ;)

In fact quail is quite good. I've had it grilled and I think even our carnivorous little lamb would have liked it. The eggs are good too, you can get them at most oriental markets.
