hdwk: Sorry the vid didn't work. It wasn't that exciting, just some bees getting down on a cactus flower. My grandson is visiting so I am doing really well!!

moi: We still have some farms and the farmers rent bees to help pollinate the fields. I think we are illegally hooked into the farmer bee network, but I won't complain.

kate: Tough to get a still picture as they won;t stop to pose. Happy MM.

troll: Thanks for stopping by, happy MM!!

shamu: I have heard that nearly all the bees here are now Africanized. As long as we can still get honey I guess I don't care, but we have a lot of attacks out here.

Searabbit: Don't mess with bees and generally they won't mess with you. Hornets and the Africanized honeybees are a different thing all together.

T-Next: save the bees and see if there are any coupons. We'd be SOL if the bees all die off and that is for sure.

A true summer sign--busy bees! They doan even care iffin' ya git rigjht up on them!

I think what is killin' bees is the Monsanto "Terminator Tecnology". For the hbrid seeds of modern mega crops they engineered a seed that woan produce new seeds capable of that germinatin' again--so farmers and growers have to keep comin' back each season to buy more of these seeds...an' the way them hybrids work is to terminate the new seeds at gestation--problem is, in the trials in India and Mexico, the butterflies that landed on them hybrid specimens also died.

ab: That certainly could be adding to the problem. I have heard everything from some sort of new virus, to natural cycles, to magnetic interference from high tension lines. I hope bee experts get it figured out so we can do something about it or that'll be the end of the food supply.

anon Boxer: I don't have many flowers, save when the cactus bloom so I don't get many bees. I'd like more flowers but huskies like to dig, so it isn't practical.

she: I'm still trying to figure the camera out. Kind of fun though,it is just a cheap Aiptek digital, but it seems to do a good job. I'd like more nature around the place, but the only birds we get are flying rats and doves.

/t.: Beers would be better, they won't sting.

cake: Happy MM!!
