Dining Baby, Hidden Scavanger

We were lucky enough to have Max visit this weekend, and had a lot of fun watching him in action. In the course of his visit I may have solved the puzzle of how wolves and man first hooked up together to bring us to the day where dogs are house pets. Max drops about a 1/3 of the food you give him thereby attracting the local wolf pack who scavenge the detritus on the floor. The dogs and he were suddenly big pals after feeding time.

The Alpha Scavenger cautiously approaches the FLZ (Food Landing Zone)

The Smaller Scav patiently waits her turn

We had Max and his mom stay with us overnight to avoid the long drive home on a rainy evening and hated to see them go the next morning, but the rain had lifted leaving the skies studded with fleeing clouds...

I have a very large black cat that used to do the same for me when my son dropped food as a toddler.

Love Mrs. Phos's new cast!

du: Cats wouldn't last long around here... Mrs. Phos chose red for Valentine's Day.

foam: On the downside Yukon likes to clean the counters from time to time. He is an accomplished counter surfer. The kid takes after me, hence the cuteness. Thanks!!!

cathy: I'd rather clean up after the dogs than change a diaper, truth be told. The only time the poop becomes a bit of a problem is when we have the kid's dogs here too - four dogs can really cover the yard in a hurry!!

Haha, Who could resist ears like those?
When I was a baby, my mum used to keep the dogs out of the kitchen, as I fed them from my high chair instead of eating. She did let them back in once I was finished, to clean up anything I had dropped on the floor though.

Austrealla has abnormally large eyes for some reason. Even the redeye feature in photo shop can't do much for 'em!!

Cool photo of the clouds! Cute photo of grandson =) Why DO little kids always like to throw their food over the side of the highchair? It's almost like they know that's the one thing they have choice and control over - "don't want THAT, throw it over there, dog eats it (or Mum throws it in bin), and I don't have to!!" Perfect! =)
