I was able to get a nice picture of the latest addition to the AF t.o. & e, the V-22 Osprey. It is kind of a confused airframe, unsure if it is a helicopter or a fixed wing...
Do they have a bigger version of this craft? There have been a bunch of them flying around Pensacola. As and interesting side note the Blue Angles buzzed my house yesterday while I was watering the lawn, I think I spotted myself. Tree level +20.

Hmmm...that Osprey has a tail. Makes it look rather like a scorpion or wasp, or something just as lethal!
I'd love to see the V-22 up close- I'll bet it makes a thunderous sound! :)
I'd love to take a ride in one of those.
Haven't seen a thing like that before. Cool, let's try it out ;)
That thing looks like it means business.
Can I go for a ride too and see it?
fun pics Phos!

Hey Phos,

i saw one of them flying around last Thursday evening. Grumpy said it was a radar plane.
one strange
lookin' duck, dude
/t.
EC: It is primarily a tactical transport designed to get troops and equipment into hard to reach places.
mayden: They do indeed!
dan:You could always enlist. I got to ride in all sorts of cool airplanes when I was in.
DM: It would be a hoot. I have flown in a helicopter and on many fixed wing aircraft before, but not one that could do both.
fuff: Not too many creature comforts on a military transport.
ll: May want to hold off on the ride until they get all the bugs worked out. But it would be fun!!
keshi: Thanks - can't wait to see some of your beach pics!
gnat: They only come in one size - there are other transports that are larger and look similar (without the tilt wings)
Interesting Pix kid
tkk: thanks!
