BBQ'in Fool
My brother is coming out soon and I am pretty excited about the whole thing. It will be nice to see him and being a fellow BBQ'r see what trouble we can get into with the grill, or at least see if we can cook until the bottom burns out.
Being tried and true Americans it is our duty to cook lots more meat than we could possibly eat and not share with anyone else. Going to give brisket a shot, never tried that, and drop on some ribs. The brisket will take 8-10 hours so we'll have to stand guard over the grill while observing the rule that grill masters must have a beer in one hand at all times. Take a tip from me, invest in Four Peaks Brewery, their stock is about to go up because of the sudden demand for Kilt Lifter's Ale.
When not manning the grill I suspect we'll be haunting various Q' joints around the area soaking up all that smokey goodness.
Doing a dry run with chicken tomorrow, going to stretch the envelope and try a N. Carolina mayo based white BBQ sauce. Should be interesting to see if these here Northern taste buds can deal with white BBQ sauce!!

sounds like
you and the bro
will single-handedly
dump enough carbon dioxide
into the air to kickstart the hottest summer on record and pretty much finish off the polar bears -- have fun -- and don't forget to invite little lamb and friends(!)

Sounds like a great plan. Hope the wind blows some of the fumes up our way.
The beer at hand is a well known rule. Glad to know it is followed in other places.
Thanks for the stock tip. I don't suppose that is insider trading, is it? lol
Enjoy the Q.
Oh, it all sounds good!
I think I'll have Sweety take me for bbq tomorrow...
We'll come as long as you don't bbq us!
that white bbq sauce hails from alabama i think. at least i've never heard of white bbq sauce here in nc.
of course there are regional differences, but primarily we have the tomato based sauces and of course the vinegar based sauces.
anyway, have fun bbqing .... !!!
Found a great recipe for burnt food.
Yeah...
get over it, and here we go...
pile the burnt beans (say...heck, corn, other veggies too) about two tablespoons, and set a circle of smoked ghouda (thin slice) on top, chop a few onion slices on top, smash a garlic on top, cook till cheese melts.
Phos: Why does /t want to "finish me off"? Life is hard enough as it is without someone inciting ursucide.
nuthin'
personal, dude

I think that is awesome that you hang out with your brother. I do sometimes, as I am blessed to have one of my four bros live relatively close.
Now, I have to go get my eat on!
It isn't the grill so much as that pile of old tires smoldering in my backyard. If you've ever seen the brown cloud above Phoenix there isn't much I could do to make it any worse. Until the greed economy we've established is changed I fear there are a lot of biomes that are doomed.
Have fun with your brother and your BBQ'ing, a good way to have a few beers and catch up on all of the news.
I really enjoy spinach and both of your recipes with the almonds and pecans look delicious, will give them a try. xo ♡
Happy Cooking Phos.. just wanted to say Hi and that i've been missing talking to u! :-)
The white sauce turned out to be pretty good. It is thinner than a typical BBQ sauce so I grilled the chicken thighs, mopping them with oil, then used the White sauce to baste. Very flavorful.
cool, have fun ;)
and I would suggest some jumping girls in the backyard. dancing round the bbq, bringing cold beers and stuff. priceless
