Be the First on Your Block...

Coin and trinket companies are wasting no time in immortalizing Osama Bin Obama, despite the fact he has yet to even be sworn in to office. I hope all the hype isn't misplaced because he's coming into a real mess, though to be fair it will take more than one man to get us back to anywhere near normal.

A note of warning about the coins, they're only worth whatever the denomination they've been painted on. The quarter is worth only a quarter. I do have trouble making a connection between Washington and Obama, aside from the fact Washington may have owned one of Obama's distant relatives, he hasn't founded our country and has yet to show whether he as the ability to fix the things that are broken. One can only hope.

Ma bought two coffee cups, memoribilia...King Edward's Coronation.
Good cups for the thing, and lasted well into the 21st century.
Thing is, he married a non-royal prior to the coronation.
Grace Kelly, I think.
Whoever.
The cups went cheap then.
Hope my daughter realizes she could sell it for a few good pennies, now.

I reckon i agree with you on the one man business.
Reckon he knows that, too.
Elanor Roosevelt knew it as well.

So, do we all pitch in to help? or just stand around and critique him as he goes?
(knowing full well that the latter is a choice some will be making, though I'm more for rolling up my sleves and getting to it)

boneman: Good point. I've already been on my Congressman's ass about several things, trick is getting him to actually read the stuff I sent him, supposing he can read in the first place....

give
the dude
a chance to
show you what he's about

and give him the respect he's earned

after he's a sworn-in politician -- then we can shit on his head ;)

LMAO, great stuff! After all he is the first blackish president ever. I found the connection, Washington Carver was black and Obama is partially black, there is the connection between Obama and George Washington.

/t. is right, we have to let him give it a shot. I am not as concerned about Obama as I am about the people he has chosen to surround himself with - the usual crowd.

he's a politician. i'm not surprised who he has chosen to surround himself with.
he is coming into a lot of mess ..
and, no doubt, he will face a lot of criticism ..
from both sides .. sooner than later ..

Phos dear, I think you meant to say "the usual suspects", didn't you?

Sigh. I suppose we can't belly-ache too much. You get what you pay for, after all.

One day America just might wake up to the responsibilities inherent in being free. Question is, will it be too late?
