My brother and I always got the "You have to wait an hour after eating before you can go back in the lake," from mom, but she never told us what was out there swimming with us...
And this one is just a little guy...

A couple of years ago, we saw a muskie actually eat a muskrat at Lathrop State Park lakes. It was a singularly unlovely experience.
JJ; Thanks for the catch - no pun intended on the spelling of Muskie.
We used to go to a place up north were o could buy a frog and toss it in to this pond they had. The frog thought it was getting away until a muskie would suddenly reach up and nab it.
I used my IR camera at the Milwaukee zoo to capture this picture in their "Lake Wisconsin" aquarium.

i actually prefer ignorance over knowledge when i swim in lakes ..
They could smell you swimming? Who needs the little toe anyway.
