July Showers

Finally got some rain with more expected tonight. In fact rain is in the forecast every evening this week courtesy of a tropical storm off the West coats of Baja. We had lots of thunder and lightning – good thing we had two huskies to huddle around and protect us!

We have some visitors at the base, we don’t often get to see F-15s in our neck of the woods, but I thought they made a good foreground for the clouds over the White Tank Mountains.

Jin: They had a little help from Photoshop when I adjusted the levels – the picture was a squosh on the dark side, but we have had some outstanding sun rises/sets with all the cloud activity. It has been so beautiful, but very humid. So much for the “dry heat” theory.

Keshi: We got some, the East part of the valley gets most of the rain out of the Monsoon, we in the West have to take what we can get.

Becky: Thanks!

We had the hottest summer since 100 years here in Switzerland so far. Puhhhh!
But yesterday there was the first rain after weeks of hot hot weather. In the late evening me and my friends were playing soccer outside in the very heavy rain. I can't explain this feeling. It was just unbelievable great! And the fun and the happyness (happyness?) about the rain and the cool down really grew into our group. Wow! This are the small events in life which feel so huge when you're aware of it.

have a good weekend, phos

DM: I know we look forward to a cool down. It wasn’t bad this morning, only 95, so I was able to cut the grass. Unfortunately the humidity was rather high.

I suspect this global warming is going to bite us all in the ass sooner then the we think.
