we planted a new cherry yesterday - okay we were a day early. its so pretty!!! i would like to plant more but i have to wait and see if theres going to be a drought this summer.

Y'know... wha would be REALLY good for Earth Day would be if everyone who drives a gas-guzzling SUV would trade it in for a hybrid.
I just spent the day at a climate change conference and I hate to say this but I think what we need is nothing short of social revolution.

I had a busy earth day. Burned a pile of old tires int he backyard, went for a long senseless drive, threw away some perfectly good food, pitched a couple of old car batteries into my neighbor's yard (he had it coming), then laid a bunch of plastic six-pack rings out in the yard and scattered bird seed around to see if I could catch some birds. Pretty fruitful earth day for Ol' Phos!! Now I have to go see how far I can make these old plastic shopping bags float on the wind!!

Considering I'm in the process of using petroleum soaked endangered species as fire lighters in order to burn down an old growth forest I think it's going to be a while... do you know how hard it is to light a blue whale on fire? Not easy I can tell you!
