Thnak you for this educational post. You see, I wanted to ask where baby cacti come from (since dad and I never had that talk), but I was too embarrassed to ask. And nobody on the street seemed to know.
Lex I saw the pictures - you have some nice plants. The cactus with the red flowers is an Arizona Barrel. So far my Golden Barrels haven't show any sign of flowering.
caramaena: Hi!! Thanks. I need to get out to the Saguaro National Monument and check it out one of these days. I'll bet there are lots of flowers down there...
pk:I like Haiku but got tired of the strictures and came up with the Frome, a four line poem. I have some on MOPP4.

I have to add some more of you to my links as soon as I get over this latest bout of laziness...
kb: Little known fact - Huskies are also prodigious pollinators. Yukon, for instance, likes to rub his stank on bushes and flowers, thereby picking up the pollen in his fur. Lots of pollen. Then spreads it to the next bush. Ok it is a rather hit or miss process...

Stunningly gorgeous images. I write haiku, and these have the spiritual particularity of satori.
Also, thanks for being the first being to comment at my alternative blog.
