Panzer v Butterfly
There are hunting dogs that will drag down a Puma, but we have a very special boy – he hunts flies. It is like hunting butterflies with a tank. Seeing Yukon in mid pounce, 85 pounds of rage screaming from the sky and down on an unsuspecting fly is poetry in motion - ok, it is more like a limerick. He does catch them though, amazing in that I didn’t figure he could even catch his own tail. Besides being fun to watch it has dramatically cut down on the number of flies around the house. I am waiting for him to misjudge a pounce and go through a wall, but so far he hasn’t done too badly.
Now ‘Strella Dog, she is an extreme hunter, she goes gunning for hornets. Flies are for sissies!!
Bring it!!

Heeheehee!!! That's cute!
My dog doesn't go after anything living, but any time she gets a 'Bagel Bone' from the bagel store, she must kill it before she eats it! Jumps, pounces, barks, etc. until said bone is broken to bits!
omahgosh so adorable!
Keshi.
we have acut down on the number of birds around since the cats are out again
They are really something else, such cute dogs!
That is too funny! I've never heard of a fly stalking dog before.
Jin:
Around our place anything smaller than a husky is fair game, but they are good with little kids. I was worried abut Yukers and his Alpha complex, but that doesn't seem to extend to the small kids who mistake him for a Jungle Gym.

We think 'Strella Dog practices all day in front of a mirror, even Yukon knows how to push the little puppy routine.

We cut down on the number of cats since the huskies have been out. Cats are numero uno on the Husky favorite dinner list.

Thanks, I'll pass that on. 'Strella is a tad on the vane side and Yukon, well, we love Yukon...

Lucky Dog used to attack moths, the bad part is the moths were on the other side of the window. She was one of the smartest dogs I have ever come across, but when moths were involved she never figured out the glass thing – Bonk!!!

A pleasant alternative to Raid, I suppose.
Huskys do leave a smell in the air and killing insects that ways is labor intensive, but it keeps Yukon safely occupied so it we can't kick.
Cute and mighty hunters? Aw!
Xan: You have to love 'em, hard to be down with huskys in the house - they are the clowns of the dogwolrd! Lucky Dog did a tolerable job of climbing trees after squirrels. She would make it about five or six feet up the trunk before gravity took back over.
SL: The insects tremble when huskies are near.

hahaha! good one pk!
My basset hounds could totally take your dogs...in a napping contest...
TImmy: I don't know, I think most dogs are on an even par. About two seconds after laying down they are already having cake dreams.
AMy: We think of 'Strella as our little girl, but you are right, she is actually a good sized dog, just looks small compared to Yukon.
ROTFLMAO!!
You've got a pair of great dogs, PK, and their antics are sooooo funny. :-)
Waking up with a husky snout in your face at 0200Hrs isn't exactly an antic...
Well, no, maybe not, but since it is you and not I who has to face the husky snout at wee hours... ;-)
